SUMMER HOURS
Summer Hours ~ The SSHS office will be open Monday - Thursday from 8am-5pm and Fridays from 8am-12noon through Friday, June 27th.  We will be completely closed the month of July.  The office will reopen on Monday, August 4th.  The counseling office will reopen Monday, August 11th.  Happy Summer!
 
INTER-DISTRICT ENROLLMENT
WE WILL NOT BE ACCEPTING ANY INTER-DISTRICT INCOMING FRESHMAN!  NO INTER-DISTRICT INCOMING FRESHMAN! 

Request for Admission:
 Request for admission as a nonresident student must be inititated by the parent/guardian by completing and submitting the "Inter-District Admission Application" (S-4-E) form to the school district office.  The request will then be forwarded to the principal of the school which the student wishes to attend (received school) prior to October 1st for enrollment in the academic year.  Forms will be available in every school building and in the district office.  The principal will explain to the parent/guardian the procedures used to process admission requests.  The student must submit an Inter-District Admission Application in accordance with these regulations for each school or program requested within the district.  The district office and each principal will maintain a file of all admission requests received from nonresidents.  The superintendent shall review the request and forward it to the receiving school principal.  The principal will make a recommendation to the superintendent as to whether an application should be accepted or rejected based on criteria established in state law and school district policy and regulations.  The receiving school prinipal will be responsible for notifying the parents and student of approval or disapproval of an admission request within 5 business days of the application deadline of August 15th.  Aprproval of a request to enroll in the district will be conditioned on compliance with each of the following:

1.  Actual enrollment and attendance prior to October 1 of the following academic year.
2.  Receipt of all applicable records.
3.  Satisfaction of all district requirements for admission.

In the event any information is falsified or withheld from the district during the admission process, approval for admission will be withdrawn IMMEDIATELY.  An appoved application will be valid for ONE YEAR.  Each student must apply for admission ANNUALLY.  Those students who apply for admission will be placed on a waiting list in the order in which the applications are received and will be considered for apporval at a later date if space becomes available.  The waiting list will be maintained until the end of the school year after which a new waiting list will be developed for the next 12 months.


GEARING UP FOR FALL SPORTS
Gearing up for fall sports already!Parents and Fall Sports Athletes: It's time to get a head start on a few things for fall sports. Please mark your calendars with the following dates:
* Fall Sports MANDATORY Parent/Athlete Meeting - Tuesday, July 29th at 5pm in the Commons.
* Fall Sports Paperwork due - No later than FRIDAY, AUGUST 1st! This includes the online registration form, fees, and sports physical.
* Fall Sports Pictures - Monday, August 25th. Times and locations are:
~ 9am - Volleyball at Memorial Park
~ 10am - Football at Gardner Field
~ 11am - Boys Soccer at Gardner Field
~ 12pm noon - Cross Country at field in front of school
~ 12:15pm - Cheerleading at field in front of school
~ 1:15pm - Boys Tennis at the Tennis Center
~ 2:15pm - Boys Golf at Haymaker Golf Course
First day of practice for Golf: Monday, August 4th.
First day of practice for Cheerleading, Cross Country, Football, Boys Soccer, Boys Tennis and Volleyball: Monday, August 11th.
First day of school is Tuesday, August 26th.
